Jonathan Vallarta
Underwater Acoustics Business Lead
Dr. Jonathan Vallarta has seventeen years of experience in underwater acoustics in a wide range of positions including teaching, design, project management, acoustic consulting and collaborative research. He has considerable experience providing training courses in fundamentals of underwater noise and monitoring techniques. In 2018, his expertise was recognized as an invited panelist and Mexican advisor at the United Nations in New York.

Dan Govier
Technical Discipline Manager
Over the last few years, Dan has specialised in the offshore marine environment, specifically regarding the oil and gas industry. He has extensive knowledge and understanding of the EEZ Act, Resource Management Act, Maritime Transport Act, Marine Protection Rules, Department of Conservations Code of Conduct for Minimising Acoustic Disturbance of Marine Animals, Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act (OPGGS Act) 2006 and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, where he is considered one of the most experienced and respected consultants within New Zealand.

Jeremy Blood
Associate
Jeremy has been working as an Environmental Assessment Practitioner since 1999 and has project managed a number of large-scale projects covering a range of environmental disciplines, including Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Programmes, Stakeholder Engagement, Environmental Compliance and Monitoring and Environmental Control Officer related work in South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique and Kenya. He has expertise in a wide range of projects relating to oil / gas and mining, housing/industrial developments, renewables, mariculture and infrastructure projects.

Justin Eickmeier
Underwater Acoustics Team Lead
In addition to underwater acoustics projects, Justin has supported the wider SLR acoustics group in a signal processing / data analyst role. Justin’s background in oceanography, ocean engineering and instrumentation is complemented by his substantial experience in underwater acoustics. His technical skills include underwater noise propagation modelling and prediction, measurement and monitoring, data processing and analysis, impact assessment, mitigation and control.
